Mayberry Melonpool is the television-addicted, somewhat clumsy, not-all-that-intelligent Captain of the "Steel Duck." Oh yeah, and he's obsessed with getting a date. In short, he doesn't have a lot going for him.
Sam T. Dogg is completely out of his element. Heβs super intelligent, a highly-skilled pilot and has the most common sense of anyone aboard the "Steel Duck." Also, no one takes him seriously because heβs a dog.
This universe works pretty much the same — really only the way the timeline unfolds is different. In the original universe, the character motivations were never really apparent, so I wanted to make sure this time around, I gave them some concrete reasons for doing some of the things they do. Hopefully, people get a little more invested this time.
Not a bad-looking living space for someone with no income. Steve, I’m invested either way. I remember meeting you at SDCC and telling you I’d be back with my wife (which I’m sure you thought meant I was blowing you off), then I came back and bought every volume you had. And every volume that came out through #6. You’ve got good stuff, don’t sell yourself short.
Since the strip finished I’ve come back and checked on the old website every 6-12 months or so to see if you’d restarted. I think your old fans are pretty devoted π
I know I am. I’m really glad it’s back. I used to check every month. I thought that the giant purple horned people eater mons… dragon had eaten him. Well perhaps in that time line.
Well it is Mayberry, but I do wonder how does Sam’s telepathy works in this universe ? π
Marcus: Steve posted an explanation in the comment section of the previous day’s comic. Check it out. It is neat.

Ha! Mayberry’s Apartment pretty much looks like my apartment other than not having all the puppets all over the place.
Seems like there’s another entry needed in the FAQs. π
That’s a good idea.
Added.
